From Tayler:

Tayler and Blake met at HyVee grocery store in Quincy when Blake would bag Tayler’s family’s groceries every Sunday. They both attended Quincy High School but finally connected after one Sunday grocery trip. Their first date was in February 2011 at Casino Lanes Bowling Alley in Quincy. Blake challenged Tayler that the loser had to kiss the winner. Either way, one of them was getting kissed that night. Blake walked Tayler to her front door where they shared their first kiss. Blake proposed to Tayler on October 7th, 2016 while hiking St. Mary’s Glacier in Colorado.

Almost 8 years together now and on December 8th, 2018, the two finally tied the knot! Tayler had always dreamt of a Winter Hallmark- inspired Christmas wedding. The couple was graced with a light blanket of snow on the day of their wedding. The ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy. The aisles lined with close friends and family members.

The bride wore a satin Justin Alexander mermaid gown and was escorted down the aisle by her father to the music of the harpist. The bridesmaids wore Sorella Vita black assorted style gowns. The groomsmen wore grey tuxedos with black ties to match their maids. The bouquets were full of white peonies, anemones, and winter greens. For the reception, the event was held at Town and Country Inn in Quincy. The bride chose silver and gold decorations to accompany various winter greens. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with the glow of lights everywhere you looked. Tayler’s father’s toast had his entire audience in tears. It showcased
the strong bond the two share. When it was time for dancing, Tayler switched in to a tea-length Allure Bridals dress with
statement red Christmas bow heels. The night was full of love, laughter, and all of the warm and cozy Christmas feels!

Throwback Thursday: Halie & Drew’s Engagement

This week’s #TBT couple is Halie and Drew. Halie and Drew’s engagement was featured in our April 2019 issue. They were recently married, but we loved their engagement announcement so much, we just had to feature them in a Throwback Thursday post!

From Drew:

Do You Remember the 21 Night of September?

I asked Halie to be my forever on September 21, 2018. The proposal took place at simple yet majestic church overlooking the rolling hills and the infinite lake of the Ozarks. The day began with multiple trips to the venue with Halie and I’s best friends in order to fine tune the details as well calm my immense nerves. As the day proceeded, the weather took a turn for the worst. Cloudy skies and drizzling rain began to damper my excitement for the night, but I knew this would still be the perfect night for both Halie and me.

After tirelessly hammering out the details with all who were involved and taking hours to pick out the perfect outfit, our perfect night began. In order to mask my nerves, a car concert and a dance party took up a near one-hour drive. After arriving at Top of the Rock, in Branson, MO, Halie and I ordered two wonderful and juicy steaks, but there was one problem. As a weekly steak connoisseur, I am used to eating excessively large steaks, but because of my nerves, my appetite, as well as my conversation, was more than lacking. Luckily for me, the rain began to flee, and the sunset began to shine across the glistening lake. As we made our way to the church, my heart began to race faster and faster, but I knew this would be the best decision I would ever make. After we entered the church, I began reflecting on the beauty of the view knowing this was the perfect representation of the moment that was soon to follow.

So that I could catch Halie by surprise, I asked her to turn around so I could take a picture of her in front of the sunset reflecting across the lake. As her back was turned, I grabbed the ring that was hidden in a pew and took the picture knowing our lives were about to change forever. As I began to give my rehearsed speech to Halie, my words could not catch up with my heart, so I did the two things I knew how to do; I told her that I loved her, and I asked her to hang out with me for the rest of our lives. My perfect moment then proceeded my fumbled proposal because with tears in her eyes, she said yes.

Drew and Halie were married on May 18, 2018!

Throwback Thursday: Matt & Abby’s Engagement

Matt & Abby were featured in our October 2018 issue. They were engaged Summer 2018 and married this July! We hope you enjoy this blast from the past…we can’t wait to share their wedding story with you!

From Abby:

Matt proposed to me at Disney World this past summer in front of Cinderella’s castle.  When he got down on one knee, the big trolley that rides up and down Main Street U.S.A. was honking its horn loudly.  Lots of people were watching and cheering.  I honestly couldn’t think of a more fun and magical place to get engaged.  It was just the two of us that day and I really liked that.  We knew that we would have lots of time to celebrate with friends and family at the wedding, so it was really nice to just focus on the two of us and this commitment that we had just made to each other.  We went about the rest of the day riding rides, getting poured on by the Orlando afternoon rains (didn’t stop us from running around and enjoying Disney), stuffing our faces at the very romantic Lady and the Tramp restaurant, and then watching the Happily Ever Fireworks with an ice cream sundae.  It probably didn’t look like your average proposal day, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Matt and Lori Biswell announced the engagement of Abby Biswell of Quincy Senior High school and Matt Howard of Marquette High School. The wedding was in Quincy at the Quincy Country Club on July 6, 2019.

If you’ve been recently engaged or married, we’d love to feature you on our blog and in an upcoming issue! Submit your story at www.qabmagazine.com/submissions.
